Guidelines For Effective Executive Coaching

By Ronald Green

Every manager or director of an organization is motivated to find the opportunity to advance into a new leadership role in the future. Conversely, there are uncertainties or unknowns that call for tried solutions. Therefore, they resort to seeking additional support and outside assistance. One effect of coaching is to increase the well- being this is done through early preparation of an executive coaching note, which will guide the trainer on how to deal with the problem facing the trainee.

The improvements that a customer expects from coaching is to make better results and something to do with their goals. Since the trainer has a clear background of the organization goals and plans, he or she prepares notes that are in line with their set objectives. This will help them improve their productivity as most employees will gain knowledge and skills.

A good lecture note should contain concise, relevant and objective information that speaks about the organization needs. A good background check about the organization will enable the coach to note down and concentrate what is only relevant to the customer. It should be brief and clear to the point this will help avoid boredom and make the training more interactive. It should also give time allowance for questions and answers.

Coaching note helps build confidence on both the client and the mentor. Clients will get to learn from the mentor and be motivated to note down and expect to learn something out of the lecture. Also, the coach will be confident while presenting in case of something unclear he/she can refer to the note for clarification.

Training will help companies to improve their human capital. As part of their training coaches may be asked to keep a diary of their work to be used during assessment. A note is used by trainers to develop self- awareness and help them identify their leadership style. Also, an organization can be able to know if they can introduce training to prospect employees.

The objective of a dedicated coach is to see their clients realize increasing returns and satisfaction. Notes remind the coach what has been discussed has been of value to their customers. He or she will later review on their lecture notes and gauge how it has solved the problems. Also, they will be able to know areas to improve on before the next lecture.

The trainer will get to know work is undertaken and progress on their mentorship. The notes remind him or her to track the progress of their work and as well evaluate on the results, challenges encountered and lessons learned from the previous lecture and how to improve on them.

Lecture notes serve as a reminder to the trainer because he/she becomes responsible for identifying significant points and development rather than the trainee. This will becomes part of their assessment on the previous and future sessions to be held. The trainer will also get to learn where areas to put more emphasis and do research on them. Evaluating the impact of a training will help improve on results.
